Same story as the first person that wrote a review. A part of my moulding was broken when the bed arrived. Amazon is replacing the bed. But i lost a lot of time setting the bed up before i noticed the broken piece. Lost time tearing it down and packing it up. And i have to wait another week until the new frame comes. Im not too happy. But.. i had the bed set up all except for the moulding. It looks nice. The bed should be placed against a wall on the back side because there is one part of the wood not laminated (just the back panel). other than that it seems fairly sturdy and I think that if the replacement comes undamaged it will do the trick.

The bed is very attractive and a great value for the guest bedroom I recently remodeled. The box as delivered is extremely heavy. UPS left it on the front porch, with warning labels that it was over 70 lbs. (considerably over). I was able to push the box into the garage, open it, and take the contents to my 2nd floor bedroom, a few pieces at a time. I was undaunted by the instructions, warning that two people are required to assemble the bed. I was able to do it alone in a relatively short period of time. The instructions are self-explanatory and everything lined up without a problem. There were two areas where I deviated from the instructions: I did use a cordless power screwdriver in some places simply because my hand got tired. I was VERY careful to not over-tighten the screws while using it, and it did make the job easier. The final step is to put the side moldings on, which was a bit difficult to do alone, as they have to be held in place and screwed in from underneath. Installation was made much easier by marking where the screws were to go, carefully drilling small guide holes (just indentations really), then using a short handled screwdriver to set the screws. Following another reviewer's comment, it would have been a nice touch if the particle board top surface (that the mattress rests on) was painted to match, but this can be easily remedied after the fact, if desired. I'd recommend this bed to anyone considering it.

I've been looking at this bed for a few years now. I could never decide if I wanted to risk if it was too cheaply made or not. With the price coming down as much as it has here on Amazon and with Prime, I figured I'd go ahead and get it.It arrived quickly and in perfect condition. It's 140lbs. or so in a long box, so two people is pretty much necessity. The instructions were simple and thorough. Pay close attention though and look at the pictures. There are only a few steps to putting it together. It's just time consuming screwing in so many screws. I've read a few reviews where people have stated that the holes were not aligned properly for the screws, but I did NOT have that problem. They all fit perfectly and fit together nicely.The bed is very sturdy and is made of a good, strong material. I'm 5'11" 235lbs. and it is as sturdy as I would have hoped. I also have a 3 year old mattress that I was thinking of replacing, but now that it's directly on the bed without the box spring, I have decided to keep it. The firmness and lack of any noise has been great.The only flaw in this whole product was the two ends of the rail on the foot of the bed were a different color. Both pieces are about 3"x1" in size, but the pen they give you for scratches colored it perfectly. I doubt this is an issue with all beds, but it was in mine. I'd also hate to move any time soon because taking this apart will be as time consuming as putting it together. Which was about an hour with two people. Doesn't seem as if it's possible to move it as one piece.Do not hesitate to buy this bed if you're looking for a platform bed and want a bargain.

The price of the bed can't be beat, I've wanted a basic platform bed for years now, finally found this. The assembly isn't too hard, but it's definitely not easy. One of the main boards arrived with a large crack on the bottom, I just left it because it didn't necessarily impact the function of the bed, but it's irritating to see. I also didn't realize that the top was a foamy particle press board, or whatever they call it. I wanted a full mattress on this to have wide sides on the bed, but the top showed. I don't understand why they couldn't paint that part as well, but I went ahead and painted it with stain + polyurethane and it came out looking really nice. I'd buy it again, but the broken piece kind of irritated me, as the thing weighs a ton, so it's not like I could just ship it back.

good value but beware that it is cheap, hard to lift up without stripping the screws so assemble it where you want it. but great value and the base is very sturdy

Pros: -Unbeatable price... nothing I found online even came close to the $120 price tag on this frame. -Attractive look. -Easy to assemble (maybe not for everyone? I found it to be a piece of cake, taking approx. an hour, but I definitely recommend getting help from one other person). Cons: -Heavy. I live in a 6 floor walk-up, and this was a serious pain to move around. -Quality of wood could be better, but hey - you get what you pay for. I did not have any problems so far with the wood, but I can't imagine moving more than once with this bed and keeping it intact. Summary: Overall, this is not an expensive bed frame... obviously. The 9-5 ground shipping and assembly parts of this deal mean that this is also not the most convenient of purchases. However, if you want a cheap yet attractive bed frame and are not afraid to put in the necessary effort, you'll probably be happy with this purchase.

I was a little nervous to purchase this online, considering the other reviews said that the bed was delivered with broken board pieces. I assure you that every single piece that the directions state are to be included, you will need-with the exception of some extra screws. The box itself weighs about 130lbs so if you are unable to lift that, you'll need assistance. The directions state that it requires 2 people to assemble this, well I am a 30 year old woman, and I had no issues assembling it myself. It might have taken less time with another person, but once I had the pieces in the room I was set! Just a little side note: it would be wise to assemble this IN the room you wish to set it up in. And finally, I have a memory foam mattress and I find that this platform bed brings out the best in my mattress, I have slept great!!! Hope my review helps!

Hello, It seems this item was heavy when it came and it was funny because i put it in the garage and had to take pieces of it up to bedroom before i could put together. It was funputting together and easy except that it seems I alway get short screws and have to find longer ones that i have. but all in all it is easy to put up and I got a cordless screw driver out of this to. and it is a nice look. satisfied for now and it realy matched ever piece of furniture in room

I managed to get this set up in little over an hour working alone. Would sure be easier with two people. The instructions are pretty well detailed and easy to follow. The finished product looks great and is perfect for a memory foam or foam mattress requiring a flat surface (no slats). Extremely cheap bed for the price considering that you dont have to invest in a bed skirt and a bed frame separately. Extremely heavy so you won't want to pick this up alone. Bit difficult even with two people if you need to heave it up and down stairs. I live in a third floor apartment so we found it easier to just unpack it downstairs and carry the pieces up.

the bed is good for the price and could assemble it alone, though it says that you need help to do so.Only bad thing about the bed it putting on the edge rails - you cannot screw it from the bottom and the rails have sharp edges which is really bad...anyone will bruise their leg going around the bed...with kids, it is dangerous..

This thing went together easy and is solid. No problem sitting on corners. Can do a running jump onto bed and no creaks or movement. I'm 6'2" and about 220 lbs to give you and idea. Looks clean to. At $150 bucks it's a good deal..

for $139 bucks and free shipping, this bed is a good deal. Yes, it's 100% high density particle board, but you will be hard pressed to find something that isn't in this price range. I was looking for a good, sturdy, simple platform for my memory foam mattress, and that's exactly what I got. I don't know what's going on with all the negative reviews saying this thing is hard to put together. If you can put together a bookshelf from Wal-mart, you can put this together quicker and easier. It took me about an hour and a half to do it by myself and I didn't encounter any difficulty with it. The only part that is a pain is screwing in the moulding as the last step because you have to prop the bed up and get down there and screw upward. If you're trying to do this part alone, it will be made much MUCH easier if you have some sort of clamp you can use to hold the rail in place while you drive the screws in.Tips:Spend $10 and get some corner braces and a pack of very short wood screws. If you use these to reinforce the corners and joins on the inside, not only will it ensure all the corners are square, it will probably double the life of this bed.As stated before, if you are doing this alone, some method of firmly clamping the moulding while you drive the screws will save you a lot of time and frustration.Make extremely sure that all the corners are square before you start screwing down the platform boards. if it is even a little off, things won't line up right. This won't be a problem if you are using corner braces.Those two little useless blocks of particle board that come with it are intended to measure the proper amount that the platform is supposed to overlap the base. Use them and make sure it is dead even all the way across from top to bottom. If you do that with the first board you screw down, all the rest will line up perfectly just using the first board as a guide. If you DON'T use them, your whole platform will be crooked and the screw holes won't be in the right places. I suspect most of the reviews saying the screw holes weren't in the right place were due to skipping this step.Anyway, good bed, good price. 4 stars instead of 5 because I think they should have included some reinforcing hardware for a bed like this. It wouldn't have cost them much, and would really improve the durability of their product..
